I would really recommend it
I have 45,000 gold in WoW, and have nothing to do with it.
I make my gold by doing 10 dailies a day (about 200g)
Mining in Wintergrasp everyday and making Titansteel Bars from them (120g)
Best professions for SELLING your items hands down is Mining, and Herbalism
Also try not to spend your gold on useless things (I.E. Mounts, AH items) and try and get those from drops and/or quests.
Basically you just have to save and not waste your gold. It takes some getting used to.
