I purchase thing on ebay all the time, and have been for 10 years…wow time flies. Anyway, use Paypal…trust me.

YES, as long as you purchase from someone who has been on over six months and has a high rating. Pay with Paypal is the best and most secure. I have made over 30 purchases and never had a problem. Very happy with Ebay and highlt recommend it.

however – isn’t buying gold for GW illegal (illegal in the game, that is)

My dad buys his camera from Ebay. From what I know, it’s totally secure. Just be smart, look at their ratings, and go for it. :-)

I had no problems with the purchases I’ve made on Ebay. Paypal can work a little odd at times.

You might be able to get that off of the Guild wars website(I’m not sure, but you should check as that would be the best source). If not, then look on Ebay, when you find a seller, check to see if the seller has 95% or higher feedback, and for 5-10+ positive transactions. Use paypal when paying because if anything happens, you can charge back and get your money back.

ebay is cool just make sure u check the sellers rateing and the score he has…i dont like people below 97% rating.
and i dont think its a good idea to buy game gold for anygame lol u might get sumthing different.

ok…Here’s the scoop from a GW Gamer AND a GW gold buyer. Buying on e-bay is safe…to a point. I actually have to disagree with the people who’ve said “Pay with paypal, if something goes wrong they’ll cover you. THEY DON’T. I had a dispute that they settled in my favor…however because the seller was smart enough to take the $$ out of his Paypal account as soon as he got it and then put no more money in their decision in my favor turned out to be “yep…you were right…however sionce he has no money in his paypal account for us to give you…you get nothing (basically…it was put a little more democratic than that)
As far as it being “game illegal”…technically it is…in the EULA you can have your account banned IF THEY CATCH YOU buying or selling anything game related for real world money…however chances of being caught are pretty rare, unless you’re stupid enough to broadcast in local chat that you’re buying or selling gold…then that’s just asking for it.
If you’d like to contact me off of Yahoo answers, i’ll give you the website from the company that I use and trust, their GW gold is probably 1/2 the cost of everyone elses and their customer service is second to none. (I can also give you their Ebay ID if you’d rather buy through Ebay from them, rather than from their website…have done both…both are safe and have ALWAYS been satisfied with this seller.)
