You’ll find yourself in Stormwind at some point if you’re in the Eastern Kingdoms, especially if you’re character is a Human from Northshire.    The city of Stormwind is a human city in the the Southern continent of the Eastern Kingdoms, and a main road leads directly to the city from Elwyn forest, entering through the Valley of Heroes.   Stormwind influences Duskwood and Westfall as well, as these areas aren’t far off. 

Stormwind is a huge place with a Bazaar/Trade district a Dwarvern district, Mage Quarter and Old Town, so if you’re after supplies or equipment you can find almost anything you need there. The city is unbelievably beautiful with canals separating the main districts, and a large Cathedral square.  There’s a moonwell in the center of the Park North of the Mage Quarter.  If you’re a tailor, then you can use it to make Mooncloth. 

When I first found myself in Stormwind, I ran through the streets and quickly found myself above the harbour, which was incredible.    My first character was a Dwarf, and I’d been tramping around Dun Morogh high in the mountains far North of Stormwind.  I travelled there on the Deeprun tram that runs from Ironforge.  Walking through the city, I suddenly found myself where the West walls ended, and a breathtaking harbour with ships in dock and departing and approaching was spread out below.  From Stormwind, you can board ships that will take you to Darkshore and the Borean Tundra.

You’ll likely fid yourself on a Warcraft quest to the Trade District at some stage.  The Trade District is the center of Stormwind.    It has the Auction House, Inn, and a Bank. And there’s a barber shop on the small street behind the main square.  There are mailboxes in front of the Blue Recluse bar and the Bank.  The Auction House is on northwest side of the central plaza of the Trade District.  The Bank’s at the southwest corner and a Flightmaster is at the southeast corner.

Stormwind Keep is where you’ll find the battle masters and leaders of Stormwind.  If you’re after the library, then take the first opening to the left after entering the Keep, then go right to get to the square.

You’ll find trainers for Mages in a tower in the center of the Mage Quarter ( known as the Wizard’s Sanctum ). There’s also a location portal for teleport spells.

Demon trainers and summoning circles are in the Slaughtered Lamb.   It looks like a bar, but the basement has the Warlock trainers.  You can find almost any type of Class and Profession Trainers in Stormwind, so head there if you can’t find help easily elsewhere.  For more help with quests you can also visit http://questcatcher.com

World of Warcraft or WoW is basically a MMO, massively multi player online game, that over 12 million people play on, getting gold, playing quests and defeating monsters. The worst thing about a cool and expansive game like wow is that you won’t really start playing the game until you reach the level cap. Eleven million players.  Two expansion packs. $1.2 billion a year in revenue.  16GB on your HDD  .  Trillions of hours spent in front of monitors all over the world  . Miles of press coverage.  A black market for trading in gold, characters and equipment for billions of dollars.  And even an episode of South Park. 

Guess what!  It is the NEW World of Warcraft expansion pack; World of Warcraft Cataclysm. It’s expected to release some time this year.   However, it is not certain when in 2010, but it will be this year for sure! It gets bigger and better!  Not only because there are two new races but you can now level up to level 85! But it is not the only new thing. There will be a new Horde race, new Alliance race, new race / class combinations, new monsters! There are also new dungeons and raids and the world has also changed!

Of course, we all know that World of Warcraft is the biggest online game of all.  … But how big is it? It is huge! You can just walk around for hours if not days exploring new parts of the world or new dungeons! There will always be something new to explore! Especially when the new expansion pack comes it gets larger! There is more to explore, there are new quests! Nothing in the gaming industry really compares to WoW! 

It’s probably not a surprise to those playing the game, but people not playing the game, have a difficult time understanding the attractiveness of this Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game – or MMORPG as it’s abbreviated. 

But all those opinions overshadow the most important thing about World of Warcraft! If you try to ignore those opinions and actually start playing you can see all the figures, the huge world, all the quests you have to do and lots of more fantastic things.

World of Warcraft is such a fantastic game. Forget all those who say it’s geeky! Play it for God’s sake! You will enjoy. Believe you me  . You can also learn new people in WoW because there is so many who plays it that you will meet someone you starts peaking to, adventuring in teams  .

It is a game created with great skills and a perfection of the exceptionally talented team of people behind, Blizzard Entertainment. And now we’re wating for the fourth chapter in the WoW story. The journey began with  The World of Warcraft, then came The Burning Crusade and then in 2008 came  The Wrath of the Lich King – and now we’re all waiting for World of Warcraft: Cataclysm – and it will be huge .

One good thing.  The Blizzard team didn’t prioritize graphics over gameplay. So don’t expect so much of the graphics, but just think about getting started . The game is perfect, but the graphics could in my opinion be better.

World of Warcraft Cataclysm is expected to hit stores all over the world  in November 2010 – but it’s only a guess at this stage, that’s something  with Blizzard wanting to dominate Christmas again this year and at the same time they probably want to give  Starcraft 2 (releasing 27 July) a couple of months to conquer the gamers’ pocket money …
